Contributing back
We openly/proudly advertise that our main development tool is Ruby on Rails however, we never mentioned that our server runs on FreeBSD, our database server is MySQL, and we use tools like Subversion, CruiseControl.rb, Rcov, ZenTest, etc. We use so many open source products that we can’t even mention all here.
A few months ago, we decided that it was our turn to give something back to the community in the form of Ruby on Rails plugins that we developed. We still have a few things to tweak, but from now you can go to code.spinbits.com and start using simply_searchable and acts_as_featurable in your own Ruby on Rails application, both plugins are release under the MIT License, and are code we use in restate.ae. We have developed other plugins, and will release them gradually, as we have some time to write proper READMEs, and usage instructions.
